The Franklin High School Band is hosting a benefit concert at the Franklin High School Auditori-um on November 3rd at 7:30 p.m. to raise much needed funds to support the school’s music programs and spring trip to Washington, DC for their participation in the Festivals of Music Per-formance. This event is titled “Keep Music Education Alive,” which has raised thousands of dol-lars for high school music programs throughout New England.
The concert is a professional production with big venue sound and lighting equipment which makes the show the true Beatle’s experience. Paul Lococo event organizer said, “The Franklin High School has a brand new state of the art auditorium and will be a nice place to stage such a production.”
The Beatlemania Stage Show is the complete Beatle’s experience with period cos-tume changes and vintage Beatle’s instruments. The show will take you from the Beat-le’s early years from the Ed Sullivan days to Sgt. Pepper’s Magical Mystery Tour and beyond.
The national touring production Beatlemania Stage Show will be performing the complete Beatles experience from the Ed Sullivan day’s right through to the Magical Mystery Tour, Sgt. Pepper and Abbey Road with period costume changes and authentic Beatles instruments. The musicians from Beatlemania have performed professionally alongside the likes of Carly Simon, Hall and Oates, BJ Thomas, Kiss, Todd Rundgren and others. Band members have also written songs with Cher, Billy Joel, Michael Bolton and Joan Jett and several movie sound tracks which included “Wayne’s World,” Light of Day” and others.
The Franklin High School music students will be performing live with the Beatlemania musi-cians during the concert on some songs.
Franklin High School music director Dianne Plouffe said “This event is both educational and a fun way for the Franklin High School Music Department to raise money and will be a great ex-perience for the students to perform with a professional group of musicians with concert sound and lighting.”
“You never know who will be the next John, Paul, George or Ringo or in fact the next number one hit group.” Plouffe stated. Tickets for the show are available at Purplepass.com and Shaw’s Market in Franklin or (800) 316-8559.
