The Hopedale High School Alumni Association has announced a program for 2017 that will award nearly $80,000 in college scholarships to Class of 2017 and Class of 2016 Hopedale High students. Alumni Treasurer Darlene MacPhee listed Association Scholarships that come from donations; Horne Memorial Scholarships funded by a bequest from Glendon and Dorothy (Dutcher) Horne that are available to 2017 and 2016 graduates; Private Scholarships provided by family members and friends in honor of loved ones; and Class Reunion Scholarships, including a $1,200 scholarship being given this year by the Class of 1966. More than 30 scholarships, ranging from several hundred to $5,000, will be given.
Ms. MacPhee added that students need to apply for scholarships not later than April 1, 2017. Applications received after April 1st will not be considered. Applications and information are available from the Junior-Senior High School Guidance Department.
