Article Body:

The 5th annual Dragonfly Festival—a free, fun, outdoor, community arts event for all ages—will take place on August 11, 2 to 7:30 p.m., at the Ashland Historical Society and Mill Pond Park, on Main Street at Myrtle. This year’s live music will feature Crocodile River Music with The Bobby Watson Band, the Railroad House Band, Lori Diamond and Fred Abatelli, and children’s performer, Rick Goldin. These popular local performers are returning to the festival stage. Artisans will come with quilts, mosaics, handbags, jewelry, pottery, paintings, gifts, honey products, origami, face painting, bird houses, calligraphy and more.
This year, Middlesex Savings Bank has increased their support for the festival, joining many other local businesses, the Town of Ashland and the Massachusetts Cultural Council, to make the event possible. The festival is run by volunteers from Arts! Ashland Alliance and led by Rajashree Ghosh and Tonya Yascovich. Arts! Ashland Alliance was started five years ago by Bonnie Mitchell, Andrea Green and Steve Mitchell to cultivate arts and cultural events in Ashland, promote diversity and support downtown economic development.
Convenient festival parking is located at Ashland Town Hall and at 60 Pleasant St. and 50 Main St. For more information, visit www.dragonflyashland.org.
