The next Ashland Business Association program on Tuesday, Oct.3, will feature Jack Calkins from SCORE-Boston. Calkins will give an overview of SCORE services and the top three tips on how to grow your business. SCORE is a national network of volunteer, expert business mentors that help entrepreneurs through free mentoring, workshops, and educational resources.
“We are volunteers who love business, we’re good at it, and want to help anyone in a business or wanting to start one - or even talk about starting one. All counseling is free, and we counsel clients for the long term,” Calkins said.
Early networking is 5:30 to 6 p.m.; the program is 6 to 7:30 p.m at the Ashland Library, Community Room, 66 Front St. The program is free and open to the public.
Refreshments will be provided by Nadine Nesbitt of WAITT-We’re All in This Together.
Also on the program will be Decisions at Every Turn (DAET) Coalition, a community-based group made up of many organizations in Ashland. The coalition is dedicated to creating a safe and healthy community by preventing, reducing, and solving problems that can lead to substance abuse.
The Business Table will feature Simplitify (formerly Bay State Support) and the Ashland Sustainability Committee. Simplitify simplifies IT for businesses by removing the stress and aggravation of trying to manage, support, and maintain technology. The Sustainability Committee is interested in gathering feedback from businesses and residents on their proposal to join 55 other Mass. communities by eliminating single-use plastic bags. They will present a bylaw for vote at the Nov. 14 town meeting.
