Ashland Business Association (ABA) President Adam Sachs recently reviewed the year for the busy organization, which has just over 100 business owners.
“At an event at a local business, I had a chance to speak to a new ABA member,” Sachs said. “She shared that she thought the presentation made by business coach Ken Erdelt at the November ABA meeting was ‘tremendous,’ and said she got a lot of value from attending.” “In addition, she scheduled a meeting with SCORE. We had one of their business mentors speak at our October meeting, to help her with business planning. She was excited about her ABA membership!”
The ABA in 2018
“We are reviewing the results from our recent members’ survey. It was almost unanimous that members like the email newsletters. However, we received mixed results in terms of changing our meeting times [which are Tuesday evenings each month],” Sachs said. “We may consider offering lunch and/or breakfast and learn sessions in 2018 on specific topics. In short, we intend to continue to bring quality speakers to help our members grow their businesses, maximize the value of our ABA membership and evaluate our organizational structure.”
“The ABA has historically been a community-centric organization,” Sachs noted. “We will continue in 2018 with our scholarship awards for Ashland senior graduates who exemplify community service; our internship program, which matches Ashland high students with local businesses; and our support of the Ashland Emergency Fund with a renewed focus on the Ashland Education Foundation.”
“We are always interested in improving, and welcome feedback on how we can better serve Ashland businesses and the community,” Sachs said.
The next ABA event is the Holiday Party on Tuesday, Dec. 5 at Stone’s Public House. The event is open to ABA members and their guests.
