The Ashland Garden Club (AGC) opened its 2018-2019 season at its annual members’ meeting on Sept. 15 when the club began another year of learning programs and activities. On Oct. 13, Cheryl Salatino, owner of Dancing Shadows, presented strategies on how to enliven those shady garden areas. As a certified landscape designer and Mass. certified horticulturist, Salatino shared valuable information with her audience.
Garden Parties
Although the AGC’s mission and focus is on beautifying the town and presenting educational opportunities for others to learn about gardening, the club isn’t just about work! In the warmer months, Wine in the Garden events have become a tradition as a way to enjoy each other’s company as well as to visit each other’s gardens. This past summer AGC President Gretchen Bravacos introduced the idea of inviting people who had expressed an interest in joining the club to meet current members in the relaxed setting of the garden party. This idea resulted in three new members.
