Business Check-Up: Think Strategically for Current, Future Needs with MBC

Issue Date:
February, 2017
Article Body:

Planning is important for the success in business.  Yet, sometimes, the day-to-day responsibilities of running a small business can make it challenging for business owners to plan for the near- and long-term.  Are there issues that are keeping you up at night? Are there bigger projects that you know need attention, but you just can’t find the time to plan for them?  Have you addressed all the legal issues necessary to ensure business partners, family and employees are protected should something happen to an owner or key employee?
While you can’t necessarily identify and solve problems in one setting, Medway Business Council wants to help business owners ensure that they’re on the right track to building and maintaining a successful business through strategic planning and thinking.
Medway Business Council invites business owners to this upcoming workshop, “Business Check-up: Legal Planning & Strategic Thinking for Small Businesses” on February 15th from 5-7 p.m. at Restaurant 45 in Medway. Come and jump start your strategic thinking. Learn about legal and other issues that you might not even realize should be on your business to-do list.  The event is open to any business owner in Medway and surrounding communities. You don’t have to be a member to attend.
Paul V. Kenney, Esq. of Kenney and Kenney Attorneys at Law will discuss business succession planning, including business formation type, business valuation, estate planning, life insurance, cross purchase agreements and more.  Then, Ed Drozda, “The Small Business Doctor” of E & D Associates will present a variety of business challenge topics and lead a workshop to help you think creatively and brainstorm solutions to some issues facing your business.
Light fare will be served; cash bar is available. Registration fee is $15/member and $20/non-member. Please register online at www.medwaybusinesscouncil.org by February 8th. For more information about MBC and recaps of past events, visit www. medwaybusinesscouncil.org.
