What better way to celebrate the Fourth of July in Holliston than to mark the opening of the Holliston Rail Trail? At 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4th, 2018, the Holliston Rail Trail will have an official celebration at Casey’s Crossing, at 81 Railroad Street in Holliston. (Parking will be available at the nearby elementary school.)
“We chose Casey’s, because it will be the 171st anniversary of the first rail car coming into Casey’s Depot into Holliston,” says Ed Daniels, President of the Friends of the Holliston Trails.
At 5 p.m., there will be free refreshments and food, with entertainment by local band The Sonomatics. A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place somewhere between 6-6:30 p.m., says Daniels.
“Once we finish up there with some of the ceremonies and good food, drink and music, we’ll head down to the 8-Arch Bridge, closing off the road in front of the bridge, and have a laser light show right on the 8-Arch Bridge at nightfall. Bring your chairs and enjoy the show around 9 p.m.”
The laser light show, by Pinnacle Laser Productions, is sponsored by the Friends of the Holliston Trails, the Holliston V.F.W., the Holliston American Legion, and Celebrate Holliston.
