The Corner Spot Exceeds Fundraising Goals

By Beth Reynolds, Ashland Economic Development Director
A huge shout-out to Tom and Donna McClements at Tom’s Auto Body & Mike’s Collision for painting our giant Adirondack chair (with Ashland pride) and to their great crew for delivering it! We can’t wait to see how many pictures are taken in this big old chair! Just wait and see what come next!

The December 8 deadline for online fundraising for The Corner Spot has now passed, and we are thrilled to say we exceeded our $25,000 goal, raising over $37,000! If you didn’t have a chance to donate, you still can; just reach out to me at breynolds@ashlandmass.com.
After the start of the new year, you will start to see changes to 6 Cherry St. The Fredenzi house will come down and in its place a colorful vibrant park will come alive. You may have already seen the Adirondack chair recently delivered. The Corner Spot committee is working with GMT Home Designs researching porch swings and café tables to create an outdoor living room and store front we can all enjoy starting in June. We will also be looking for prospective businesses soon as well.
For updates and pictures during the next few months, and to share your ideas on making this a wonderful space for all to enjoy, visit our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/thecornerspotashland. Thank you to all who donated to this project. We can’t wait to see everyone there in June!
