Would you like to be part of the research and writing of the story of Hopedale through the eyes—and words—of its women? The record of these women spans almost 150 years. It’s going to take a community to learn about the women of this town.
“The women of the sewing circle were radicals ahead of their time. In advocating dress reform, equal rights and equal pay, women’s rights in divorce and child custody, abolition, pacifism, and choice of last name, they pushed for a fairer deal for women. Abby Hills Price formulated a philosophy that she brought to the Women’s Rights Convention, where it inspired future feminists such as Simone de Beauvoir and Betty Friedan.” –Valley Breeze
