On Sunday, April 29th, Family Promise Metrowest is again partnering with Concerts From The Heart for a special Feels like Home concert featuring Laura Vecchione, a “bluesy songstress” the Boston Globe claimed, “is all ours.” All proceeds from the event will benefit Family Promise Metrowest, a community response to family homelessness. The concert will take place at The Center for Arts in Natick (TCAN) starting with a 5:30pm reception, followed by a full band performance at 7:00pm.
Following the success of last year’s event, singer-songwriter Laura Vecchione will once again merge music with a mission. She will take the stage with Adonis Martin (piano), Raleigh Green (guitar), Richard Gates (bass), Jamaal Shoffner (drums), and Dionne Shoffner (background and accompanying vocals), to deliver an uplifting and inspiring performance.
“Last year, Laura’s ability to weave our mission with her own personal storytelling had a visible impact on the audience,” said Carole Brodrick, Director of Development at Family Promise Metrowest. “Not only did we sell out 250 tickets, but we received additional donations at the end of the night.”
Family Promise Metrowest is a local nonprofit that empowers families to move from homelessness to independence. With 50 local congregations, over 3000 volunteers, and support from the community, Family Promise provides shelter, meals, job assistance, and professional case management to families in crisis. Most recently, Family Promise purchased a new building in Natick for its families and staff and launched a LIFE program for eviction prevention.
“I am beyond impressed by how much Family Promise Metrowest does to address the issue of family homelessness,” said Laura Vecchione. “Their model symbolizes the best of what we can do together as a society. I am humbled and grateful to be sharing the stage for such a worthy cause with a diverse group of talented musicians.”
The Feels like Home reception and performance will take place in TCAN’s historic firehouse building at 14 Summer Street in Natick with complimentary appetizers and a cash bar. Tickets are available now for $35 at www.natickarts.org.
