Event:
Ashland Public Library, 66 Front Street, Ashland. Every year, more and more people seek to educate themselves on what it means to be a global citizen. If you are curious, have passionate opinions about politics, social and cultural norms, historical precedents and national and foreign policy, this in-depth discussion group is for you. The Great Decisions Discussion Program, created by the Foreign Policy Association of America in 1954, is America’s largest grassroots discussion program that focuses on world affairs. The program provides background information and policy options for the eight most critical issues facing America each year. Before each meeting participants are asked to read an article from the Great Decisions briefing book, then meet as a group where they will watch a DVD of interviews and information relating to the article, and follow up with a thoughtful and engaging discussion. This group will be open to ALL ages. Sponsored by the Friends of the Ashland Public Library and Ashland Senior Center.
