The Holliston Garden Club has announced that the presenter at their traditional holiday program will be Deborah Trickett, the owner of The Captured Garden, an award-winning container garden designer and a Massachusetts certified horticulturist and landscape professional. Unique winter boxes and other containers will be created as a live demonstration on Friday, November 4, 2016 beginning at 7:30 p.m/ at St. Mary’s Church Parish Hall, at 8 Church Street in Holliston. A wide array of hors d’oeuvres and sweets prepared by Garden Club members will precede the demonstration, starting at 7 p.m.
Deborah delights in creating beautiful, unique designs by combining unusual plant material and creative design ideas to create containers that are truly one-of-a-kind. She has worked in the garden industry for over 30 years, starting with a greenhouse job at age 13. Deborah has spoken at the New England Spring Flower show and the Philadelphia International Flower Show, and teaches classes at the Arnold Arboretum in Boston. Her work has been featured in the Boston Globe, The American Gardner, Garden Gate and New England Home magazines as well as on the TV show New England Dream Home.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Holliston Garden Club’s many civic projects, which include tree and flower plantings throughout the town, programs for children and seniors, and Arbor Day events. The Club also provides scholarships and educational grants to benefit Holliston students. There is a raffle table and a raffle drawing of Deborah Tricketts containers following the program.
