We are excited to bring Aly Pereira onto our team of amazing teachers at Holliston Parks and Recreation. In the fall, Aly taught Hip-Hop and led a musical theatre program featuring songs from Disney’s Frozen. Aly is a 33-year-old from Assonet, MA. She has been performing for the past 30 years, and teaching for 14. In the past, she has opened up concerts for Busta Rhymes, 112, Ludacris, Soulja Boy, Lil’ Kim, 50 Cent and many others. A few years ago, she performed with the Funky Bunch as a back-up dancer. In 2002, she joined a dance troupe entitled Off the Curb, where she performed at the Sports Illustrated Anniversary, the Britney Spears Camp, The U.S. Tennis Open, as well as many other major events. In 2008, she moved to another hip-hop performance crew called Phunk Phenomenon, where you may have seen them performing, on the court, throughout the last Celtics season. Aly graduated Summa Cum Laude from Roger WIlliams University, with a B.A. in theatre and has studied with Sean Curren, Crazy Legs and Savion Glover, to name a few. She has been featured in such movies as Step Up, The Pink Panther 2, and The Zookeeper.
We are excited to have Aly back for the winter teaching Hip-Hop and a Teen Beach Movie musical theatre program. Both programs begin on Thursday, January 26 at the Holliston Parks & Recreation Building at 1750 Washington Street.
