Hopedale 6th Grade Boys travel basketball team had another stellar season. The team finished the season with a record of 9 wins and 2 losses and qualified for the playoffs in highest division in the league.
In the quarter finals of the playoffs, Hopedale defeated an up and coming team from Spencer. Earlier in the season, Spencer shocked our boys by handing Hopedale only their third defeat in two years of league play.
For the third year in a row, our Hopedale Boys advanced to the league championship game. Hopedale has won it all the past two seasons. Unfortunately, Hopedale lost a hard fought game against their arch rivals from Douglas.
A second place finish earned Hopedale one of six spots in the State Small Town Tournament. It wasn’t Hopedale’s weekend. The competition was of the highest caliber. Hopedale played some very close games but came up short.
It is a remarkable feat for Hopedale, one of the smallest towns in the state, to compete at the highest level of youth basketball.
