A rare form of cancer, Osteosarcoma, might have hit Ashland teen Jake Silver, but the teen is determined to make the most of the three to six months he has left. He’s put together a bucket list, and neighbors and friends are working to help him achieve it.
The list included simple things like a first kiss and helping his sister choose her prom dress to attending lots of sports games and meeting famous players and actors. Some of that has been realized, and this Super Bowl weekend, thanks to that fundraiser and some help from the New England Patriots, Jake will be on his way to the Super Bowl.
Meanwhile, Jake’s fellow football players from the Tri-Valley League – including Ashland, Bellingham, Dover-Sherborn, Medway, Medfield, Millis, Holliston and Hopkinton, will be conducting a “fill the helmet” campaign outside local grocery stores to help raise money for the rest of Jake’s Bucket List.
