Medway Community Farm will host a fundraiser Hoedown to celebrate its 10th anniversary at the Thayer House on Saturday, November 9, 2019, from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m. The event will include music, some line dancing (as well as 70’s, 80’s and 90’s dance music by Al Kennedy of KTK Sound), and a silent auction.
The 21+ event will also feature light appetizers from locally grown food from the farm. Proceeds from the sale of tickets, which will be $35, will help pay for a new water pump for irrigating the fields, a washing station, greenhouses, as well as a new tractor.
In addition to a recent changeover of board leadership, Medway Community Farm’s 10th anniversary brings with it a new community program to benefit neighbors who use local food pantries. Medway residents and other visitors to the farm can full or partial shares, or make monetary donations, to provide both food pantries in Medway, the Medway Village Church Food Pantry and the Medway Food Pantry, with weekly deliveries of fresh, local vegetables in all seasons.
