Holliston Parks & Recreation is going into the New Year strong with many programs geared towards 6th-8th grade students. All classes held at the Parks & Recreation Center (1750 Washington St) unless noted. Check out our offerings and register online: www.Holliston.activityreg.com

Sports Management & Broadcasting Wednesdays beginning January 22
for 5 weeks 5-6 p.m., $85
This exciting NEW program gives children the opportunity to own and operate their own sports team, while also reinforcing in-class learning like mathematics, geography, and critical thinking! Each week we will take our students through a focused discussion of current events in sports, walk them through team composition options, and research potential trades. Before they even realize they are learning, your children will know the basic operations of professional sports teams and be able to apply what they have learned to a wide array of future activities. To top it off, your children will gain experience in their writing and communication skills as we also explore the world of sports broadcasting! Grades 3-5 program held from 4-5 p.m.

Culinary Kids Thursdays beginning January 23 for
6 weeks 4:45-5:45 p.m., $199
Come and work on your Culinary Skills with experienced culinary teacher, Sandhya Jain. In this class each week, we will focus on wholesome, creative recipes and techniques that will translate into healthy and fun meal ideas kids can utilize at home. Recipes will cover the following areas: appetizers, main meals, breakfasts, desserts and more. Sampling of the day’s results will be available for take home. Cost includes all supplies. Grades 3-5 program held from 3:30-4:40 p.m.

Winter Track & Field Camp: February Vacation February
18-21, 10:30 a.m. -12 p.m., $90
An opportunity for young athletes to explore the sport of indoor track and field and the events include. Campers will learn running form drills, proper mechanics, warm up exercises, core and strength routines. Introduction to hurdles, starting blocks, high jump and shot put will be provided.  Athletes must have running shoes and wear appropriate athletic wear. Registration open to Holliston residents or those who attend school in Holliston. Program held at the high school. Grades 5-8
   
Magnificent Mosaics Thursdays beginning January 9 for 5 weeks 4:15-5:30 p.m., $135
Cheryl Cohen is hosting this new class at her Mosaic Art Studio (360 Woodland Street). In this class, you will be introduced to the world of mosaic art. Students are encouraged to problem solve by making colorful, textural glass projects in exciting new ways. They will learn to cut glass using wheeled cutters and learn how to trim, glue & grout. Beginners will make a coaster and a picture frame made out of smashed plates, and experienced students will have a wide variety of creative challenges/project choices.
SUMMER CIT PROGRAM!
