Following the great success of Ashland Farmers Market’s (AFM) inaugural Midwinter Market last year, AFM invites shoppers again this year, just in time for Valentine’s Day. The Midwinter Market will take place at the Ashland Middle School, 87 W. Union St., on Saturday, Feb. 10, from 9 am to 1 pm.
The snow may be piled up, but a warm haven exists at the middle school! Join AFM’s nearly 20 food vendors who will bring sweets, pantry staples, pasta, winter vegetables and ready-to-eat foods.
Farmers include Long Life Farm from Holliston and Upswing Farm from Ashland/Holliston. Visitors can inquire about CSA (community-supported agriculture, or farm) options for the upcoming growing season.
Those visitors who have a sweet tooth (or have a sweetie with one) can indulge with Chrissy’s Crumble, Crust Bakery, Halvah, Julie’s Z Breads, OMG Bagels, Woodville Maples and Yummy Mummy Brownies.
Specialty vendors include Auntie Dalie’s Pasta, Hillcrest Apiary, Samira’s Homemade, SA’s Homestyle, Shady Pine meats, Town Farm Gardens and Valicenti Organico. Shoppers may enjoy some maple cotton candy from Woodville Maples, back by popular demand.
There will be a café area at the rear of the shopping space where customers can enjoy Dulce D Leche Café’s coffee, chocolates and ready-to-eat foods. La Maison a Gateau will make a return appearance with delicious crepe offerings.
For everyone’s four-legged ‘loves,’ Laszlo Family Farm will bring fresh dog food.
In case you need to show someone how you feel with a token of your love, AFM has you covered with gorgeous artisan offerings: Angel Hair Alpacas, Brookfield Candles, Earthly Wealth, James Heroux Art, Jennifer’s Soaps, Pictures/Pottery Anew, The Domesticated Wild Child and Two Orange Cats Jewelry.
While they shop, customers can have their knives and shears sharpened by Eric’s Sharper Edge. And to round out the day’s experience, there will be a Valentine-making workshop sponsored by the Ashland Moms Club. Create some of your own treasures for loved ones or, perhaps for someone not fortunate enough to receive a lot of Valentine love.
