Millis High School senior Lily Denman loves history, and she’d like to share a little bit of Millis history with you. As part of her senior project, she’s working with members of the Millis Historical Commission to bring Millis history alive.
On Saturday, March 16th, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., at the Niagara Engine House, located next to Millis Public Library, Denman will host a museum exhibit on the history of the town. The open-house style exhibit will feature artifacts from the town, and Denman plans on giving a small presentation on the hour at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and 12 p.m.
“The building will be open for anyone to come,” says Denman, “and we’re going to have the fire trucks on display there. There is no cost, but we’re going to accept donations.”
Denman would not only like to share some of this history with her fellow residents, but in particular, her fellow students.
“Before most people my age move away or go off to college, I think it’s a good idea to know your town’s history,” says Denman. “It’s kind of a Millis pride thing, but if you aren’t sure how Millis has developed, it’s a good idea to come.”
