Norfolk to Elect Delegates to Democratic State Convention

Issue Date:
March, 2020
Article Body:

Registered Democrats in Norfolk will hold a caucus on Saturday, March 7 at 10 a.m. at the Norfolk Public Library to elect delegates and alternates to the 2020 Massachusetts Democratic State Convention. The Norfolk Public Library is accessible to persons with disabilities.
The 2020 state convention will be held May 30 at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, where thousands of Democrats from across the state will come together to discuss party business and celebrate the party’s successes as it prepares for upcoming elections.
The caucus is open to all registered and pre-registered Democrats in Norfolk. Pre-registered Democrats who will be at least 16 years old by February 15, 2020 will be allowed to participate and run as a delegate or alternate. If you live in Norfolk, but are not yet registered as a Democratic voter, you still have time to register so that you can participate in the caucus. Registration forms will also be available at the caucus. Democrats who registered after February 28, 2020 and all pre-registered Democrats are requested to bring proof of your registration status.
Norfolk can elect four delegates and four alternates to the convention. Youth, minorities, people with disabilities and LGBTQ individuals who are not elected as a delegate or alternate may apply to be an add-on delegate at the caucus or at http://www.MassDems.org.
