Open Rehearsals for Highland Men’s Glee Club Begin September 11th

A Men’s Chorus Drawing Members from the Metrowest Area
Calling all men who love to sing: The Highland Glee Club begins its fall season in its 109th year on Monday, September 11. Open rehearsals will be held for all interested male singers on the 11th, 18th and 25th of September at First Baptist Church, Needham, located at the corner of Warren and Great Plain Ave., from 7:15 – 9:30. The Glee Club sings four-part men’s music and all voices are welcome to attend the rehearsals.
Members come from many towns including Millis, Sherborn, Hopkinton, Wellesley, Needham, Newton, Waltham, and Boston. Directed by David Tiedman, a resident of Millis, the group will present a program of classical music by Cherubini, Morley, Mendelssohn and others as well as carols and holiday music including The First Nowell, ‘Twas in the Moon of Wintertime and others. Performances will be held November 29 and December 3. The spring program performance dates will be April 18th and 22nd.
Tiedman is a graduate of New England Conservatory with a Master’s Degree in Choral Conducting. He is the music director at Pilgrim Church, Sherborn, where he has choir, organ and handbell responsibilities, and he also teaches privately in the area.
