Would you like a way to help in the fight against cancer right in your own backyard? Well, here it is! Relay For Life of Natick, Framingham and Sherborn will be held May 13 to 14, 2017 at the Natick High School (NHS) Memorial Field.
Relay For Life is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. The money raised at ‘Relay’ not only funds life-saving research, but in one year in Massachusetts alone, it helped provide more than 8,300 rides to and from treatment, overnight lodging for 234 people visiting the area for treatment, almost 900 women deal with the appearance-based side effects of treatment, and much more!
Individuals form teams of friends, family, co-workers and neighbors and raise money. It’s asked that you raise at least $100; not a lofty goal by any means, but each dollar adds up. Then we all gather at the main event May 13-14, Memorial Field and make an effort to have at least one person from each team on the track at all times, including overnight; cancer doesn’t sleep, so neither will we. There are activities and entertainment throughout the event!
The event is open to the public, there’s no admission, and you can enjoy the activities and entertainment. There’s even a tent with scores of gift baskets to take chances on, and you don’t need to be present to win. Or, maybe you’d like to make a donation on the website, or dedicate a luminaria bag. Point your web browser to bit.ly/RelayNFS, click Get Involved, and scroll to the bottom to see what Luminaria is all about!
