The Ashland Farmers Market is offering a scholarship to a graduating or recent graduate of Ashland High School (AHS) who is beginning studies in 2017 at an accredited institution. The scholarship is $1,000; the deadline for submission by email is Monday, May 8. The field of study must be related to the core mission of the farmers market. Applications for the Harold B. Walker Scholarship are available in the AHS Guidance Office and on the AHS website under “Guidance Department.” Applicants must be a graduate of AHS and have successfully completed four full semesters, or the equivalent of 50 percent of post-secondary program in which the applicant is enrolled. Students must be at least in their junior year of college. The scholarship is applied to their senior year and/or graduate school. Preference will be given to applicants pursuing studies in the fields of science and mathematics. All materials must be received in the AHS Guidance Department by Friday, May 19.
