The Ashland Farmers Market (AFM) is pleased to announce its first-ever Mid-Winter Market. AFM encourages folks to come out of winter hibernation on Saturday, February 11, 9 a.m. to 1p.m., at the Ashland Middle School, 87 W Union St. (same location as the Pre-Thanksgiving market). Join with neighbors and friends, to spread the AFM love: get your sweetie a Valentine’s gift and purchase dinner fixins in one stop! AFM will host a Valentine-making workshop, so get those love poems ready!
The February market will feature some of our much-beloved regular food vendors and artisans as well as some new faces. Anna Banana’s Homemade Goodness, Julie’s Z Breads, Dulce de Leche, and Upswing Farm have already signed up along with artisans Isley’s Terrace, Rag Hill Farm, ReDesign, The Domesticated Wild Child and more. Exciting new additions include local silhouette artist, Carol Lebeaux, who will hand-cut silhouettes on site, and Petal and Crumb, a florist from Upton, who will bring gorgeous bouquets and take orders for Valentine’s Day delivery. More vendors are joining every day. For an up-to-date list, visit www.ashlandfarmersmarket.org/event/mid-winter-market.
Attend AFM’s Annual Meeting, January 28
The public is invited to attend AFM’s annual meeting on Saturday, January 28, 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Ashland Library, 66 Front St. (Snow date is Saturday, February 4.) The meeting is an opportunity for residents to give feedback and propose new ideas. This past season, 72 vendors participated, including artisans and food and service vendors during the regular season and the November Pre-Thanksgiving Market.
AFM has become known as an incubator for small, local businesses. It holds many special events and theme days, donates food to the food pantry, and implements many “green” initiatives, such as “slash the trash” and a composting program.
