After almost two years of wonderful commitment to the Norfolk community, NCTV’s Production Coordinator, Chris Lawn, is heading off to start the new year on the west coast.
Chris has been an incredible asset to our community these past two years. He rediscovered his Norfolk roots when coming back to work in the town he grew up in, and he truly made a difference during his time here. His outgoing and friendly personality fit perfectly into the NCTV puzzle, and he was a delight to staff and members alike. With his passion for free-speech and equal opportunity for all, he helped usher in a number of programs and new members to help diversify the station’s content and promote the flow of education and information throughout the town. One of Chris’ pinnacle contributions was the introduction of Public Service Announcement Day, which will continue to highlight area nonprofits for years to come. In addition, he was a founding member of Media Literacy Month at NCTV as well as a primary source of a never-ending list of improvements he advocated for, which helped the staff and board be more productive and organized.
Chris has a unique ability to foster individual growth within our members through his caring and careful direction during all stages of the video process. He is open, patient, and kind, which are three coveted traits in this society and industry.
While we are extremely excited for Chris as he begins his new journey, we will also feel the loss of such a wonderful team member and important part of our town.
On behalf of the staff, board, and members of NCTV, I want to thank you, Chris, for all you’ve done for our community. Best of luck in your new adventure!
