On April 22, 2017, the Vesta Real Estate Group celebrated Earth Day by hosting its 6th annual Community Shredding Day in the parking lot of Holliston High School. Despite the inclement weather, over 125 families attended and were able to watch as their sensitive documents were shredded on site by Universal Shredding. This was a free event to the community, who turned out in a steady stream throughout the event.
As each car drove in, they were greeted by a smiling Doriane Daniels and volunteer Charlie Russo, who handed each car a snazzy re-usable grocery bag. These greeters happily collected donations for Friends of the Rail Trail. “We were humbled and thrilled to have raised almost $1,000 for the trail, which we were thrilled to support. The trail is an amazing community resource” said Ed Daniels of Vesta.
The Group was joined by a group of business partner volunteers, who braved the cold temperatures and drizzle to help organize the shredding process.
“Shredding Day was a wonderful opportunity to connect with the Holliston community” said Cortney Black, owner of Holliston Handy. “Vesta and Holliston have been nothing but supportive of my business and it was a way to give back and see some familiar faces in Town. I will gladly be a part of the event annually with how dedicated the committed the Vesta Group is the serving the community.” she added. Vesta was also joined by Ed Moloney of GMH Mortgage, Greg Ross of Bright Insurance and Chris Sahagian.
“We are so grateful to our sponsors, volunteers and community members for another successful Earth Day celebration” said Liz Kelly, a Vesta agent. The shredding truck was filled almost to capacity, according to Vesta’s Joan Shaughnessy. “Looking forward to another year of shredding in 2018!” she said.
