Looking for fireworks?
If you’re patient, you can hold out for your summer fireworks fix until July 29th, at 9:30 p.m., when the Holliston Lions will hold their annual carnival and cap off that night with a great display, or you could wait until mid-July, on July 15th, and head over to Celebrate Medway Day for a whole lot of fun during the day, capped off with a Newport Navy Band concert at 7 p.m. (the band will continue to play through fireworks over Choate Pond.)
If, however, your Fourth of July celebration isn’t complete without explosions, bursts of color and the smell of burnt gunpowder, you can find fireworks at these nearby locations:
Bellingham
Bellingham holds a 4th of July celebration at the Bellingham Middle School, 60 Blackstone Street, Bellingham. In addition to Mat Zajac at 5 p.m., the Peter Baro Band at 6 p.m. and Pieces of Eight at 7:30 p.m., fireworks
will take place at 9:30 p.m. Vendors and food will also be available and no alcohol is allowed.
Milford
July 4th fireworks will be held on July 3rd, with a rain date of July 5th, at 10 p.m., visible from Plains Park.
Walpole
Walpole holds an annual Night Before the Fourth celebration, with live music, vendors and food available in downtown Walpole. Fireworks, launched from the center pool area on School Street, will take place at 9:30 p.m.
Newton
The 4th of July celebration takes place in Newton from noon – 9 p.m. at Albemarle Field, Watertown Street, Route 16. Fireworks will go off at 9 p.m., but before that, there’s entertainment at the gazebo from 1-4, then by the Bo & Bill Winiker Band at 6 p.m., on top of food, vendors, and aerial demos by Gravity Alternative Movement.
