Volunteers are invited to take part in the Franklin Earth Day Cleanup this year, sponsored by Franklin Recreation Department, in conjunction with the Franklin Department of Public Works. The event will take place at Beaver Pond, from 9 a.m. to noon, and anyone interested in joining in should contact Franklin Recreation at (508) 613-1666.
This event has taken place for over 10 years, and the Town of Franklin has conducted this event in an effort to educate the public on recycling, beautification, and general cleanup of the town.
At 9 a.m., bagels and coffee will be provided to volunteers as they receive assignments for cleanup at particular locations around town. Trash bags and gloves will be handed out, and volunteers should place the filled trash bags curbside for the Franklin DPW to pick up after the event.
At 12 p.m., volunteers can enjoy a volunteer appreciation pizza lunch back at Beaver Pond, and high school volunteers can pick up their community service certificates.
