Small Business Saturday will mark this year’s Holliston Business Association Annual Holiday Stroll, which has become a beloved holiday tradition in town. The family-friendly event will run from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m., with music, magic, dance, puppetry, sweet treats, crafts and fun, trolleys ready to take strollers from one end of town to the other – and best of all, a friendly visitor from the North Pole! Local businesses will offer specials that day, which truly offers something for every Holliston resident.
During the daytime, special performances will take place. At Town Hall, Aspire Dance will perform from 12-12:30 p.m., followed by the return of Fran Flynn, the Magician, from 1-2 p.m. Vesta Real Estate Group will also be hosting a Cookie Decorating table at that location, from 12-4 p.m.
Don’t worry about running home for lunch, because out in front of Holliston Upper Town Hall this year, four food trucks will be stationed from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. They include Birdsnest Italian Street Eats, Uncle E’s BBQ Express, Baja Taco Truck, and, for dessert, whoopee pie from The Whoopie Wagon.
At St. Mary’s Church, at 708 Washington Street, Henry Studios will offer photos with Santa from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., Puppets to Go will perform from 12:15 -1:15 p.m., and Ventriloquist Kevin Driscoll will display his amazing skills from 2:15 - 3 p.m.
Crafts will take place all day long at the Holliston Public Library, at 752 Washington Street, while right behind it, in the parking lot of the Grapevine, Mike the Balloon man will perform from 2-4 p.m.
Families with small children might want to linger in that lot right around 3 p.m., because at 3:15 p.m., with the help of the Holliston Fire Department, the Jolly Old Elf himself will take time out of his busy pre-Christmas schedule to visit with the children of Holliston. As he does each year, Santa will read the children the well-loved ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, by Clement Clarke Moore.
As strollers make their way through town, they’ll want to stop at the many businesses decking their halls and offering specials to make the night memorable. Some of the fun local purveyors have in store include:
All Day Activities at Aesop’s Fable from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Product testing & Music at Arcadian Farms from 1-3 p.m.
Sampling at the Candy Cottage from 11-6 p.m.
Face Painting and Thinking Putty Party at Fiske’s, from 1-4 p.m.
A Raffle for a FREE Granite Birdbath at Granite Landscapes, all day

Raffle All Day, Henna Tattoo at Soul Spirit Studio, 12-4 p.m.

Don’t get started too late, or you’ll miss the tree-lighting ceremony at Blair Square, where the Boy Scouts will be serving up s’mores to the hungry crowd from 3-6 p.m. A candlelit procession down to Blair Square from Fiske’s General Store parking lot on Central Street will begin at 5:15 p.m., and the tree lighting will follow.
All that strolling can be exhausting, so thanks to several sponsors, two free trolley trolleys will be running from 12:30 – 5 p.m. Trolley route #1 goes to Village Plaza, Jordan Hall, Upper town hall and Washington Street, and trolley #2 will take folks down Norfolk St., Railroad Street, Central Street and downtown.
Make sure to look nice for the holiday revelry. Holliston Local Access Television (HCAT) will be broadcasting all day long!
