Dear Clocker Nation,
We will get through this...TOGETHER!
It is with a great deal of sadness that I share the news with you that the MIAA has officially cancelled the 2020 spring season. The writing was on the wall when Governor Baker announced that the closure of school buildings would extend through the rest of the school year, however it still stings to both read and write about. Throughout all of this uncertainty, it has been extremely impressive (yet not surprising) that our student-athletes and coaches continued to prepare for whatever was to come. Hope was, and continues to be alive in Ashland as we figure out what’s next...together. Our separation has ironically brought us closer together.
To the Senior Class of 2020...Your legacy has been cemented and you have created memories for yourselves and the Ashland community that will last forever in our collective minds and hearts. You have worked tirelessly to display #ClockerPride in everything you have done and have succeeded in doing so. We certainly share in your disappointment for not having the opportunity to compete in one final season donning Clocker Blue, however it is our expectation that the lessons you have learned through athletics will undoubtedly play a role in your future successes. We sincerely thank you for all you have contributed to the athletic program and please know that through all of your hard work, you will leave AHS with a strong foundation for future generations of Clockers to build on. We are so very proud of you, thank you for everything, and will continue to root for you. Once a Clocker, always a Clocker!
