What sets Smile Magic apart from other family dentistry practices?
“Our state of the art practice provides a warm and friendly dental care experience for each person who walks through our doors,” owner Reema Dhingra, DMD, said at the Grand Opening last month. “Whether the patient is elderly, adult or young, we treat everyone as family.”
Dr. Dhingra’s family dentistry practice opened its doors in the Market Basket Plaza at 39 Pond St. in Ashland. Her associate, Dr. Nikhil Whig, provides primary general and cosmetic dental services while Dr. Dhingra specializes in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedic treatment for children, teens and adults.
The combination of a kid-centric, adult-focused atmosphere, bi-lingual services, state-of-the-art equipment and practitioners who are expert in current advancements in the field of dentistry and orthodontics gives Smile Magic its edge.
New Smile Magic patients are offered a special first-time visit at $49. All major insurance plans are accepted, and for those new patients without coverage, arrangements are made for a free dental exam and x-rays. Orthodontic braces are offered at an affordable rate of $129 per month, based on credit approval.
Prevention is key. Staff strive to educate parents that a child’s initial dental visit should be at age one, when first teeth break through the gum line. Nutrition is discussed with parents along with the ill effects of bottle feeding at night which leaves sugar covering a baby’s teeth, a potential cause of cavities.
Likewise, a child’s first orthodontic visit should be at age seven because this is a time when jaw discrepancies might be found and corrected while the child’s bones are still growing. “It is easier to make skeletal changes in cases with an underbite, overbite or crossbite – a process known as facial orthopedics – at a young age. This makes the child’s orthodontic appointment to treat any type of malocclusion, usually around age 12, that much easier,” Dr. Dhingra added.
Smile Magic staff credentials are impressive.
Dr. Dhingra received her pre-med undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, from Punjab University in India, her Doctorate of Dental Medicine after graduating Summa cum Laude from Tufts School of Dental Medicine in 2007, and an Orthodontic Certificate from Tufts School of Orthodontics in 2009.
Dr. Dhingra also owns the well-established, pediatric dentistry and orthodontics practice, New England Kids, which serves families in Auburn, Mass., and the Worcester County area. She bought the 20-year-old practice in 2011 and leads an exceptional team of 23 professionals.
Dr. Nikhil Whig, DMD, holds his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from Boston University School of Dental Medicine, graduating in 2015. He also holds a dentistry degree completed in 2010 in India.
“Excellent patient care is my top priority,” Dr. Whig said. “I will always take the time necessary to understand the specific dental problem and explain the treatment plan to my patient.”
Both doctors are professionally affiliated with the American Dental Association, the American Association of Pediatric Dentistry and the Massachusetts Dental Society. Dr. Dhingra is also associated with the American Association of Orthodontists and the New England Society of Orthodontists.
“Practicing good oral hygiene means maintaining your smile by visiting the dentist regularly, at least twice annually, and taking care of your teeth and gums in between checkups,” Dr. Dhingra added. “Smile Magic staff want to make sure you get the most out of your office visits, and that your teeth stay healthy for life.”
Drs. Dhingra and Whig will work with you to provide complete dental care and show you how to maintain your smile at home with the right dental products.
