One Book, One Holliston to Feature Dominic Smith February 8

Issue Date:
February, 2017
Article Body:

The annual community reading program One Book, One Holliston asks the question: “what if all of Holliston read the same book at the same time?” It is a community-wide program to draw readers to important authors, books and themes and to help them share ideas and the love of reading. One Book, One Holliston takes place each February with funding from the Friends of the Library and the TD Bank Affinity program.
The 2017 selection is Dominic Smith’s Art Mystery The Last Painting of Sara De Vos. Across three continents and four hundred years, Smith has spun a stunning tale of forgeries and deaths, deception and love to reveal the lasting legacy of a fateful brush stroke. He uses a single painting to tell the story of two women—their mistakes and love affairs, their devotion to art and their struggles to thrive in a male dominated profession.
Dominic Smith will visit with us by telephone on Wed, February 8, 2017 at 7 p.m. to answer questions about his work. Followed by discussion. Copies of the book are available to borrow now.
