Home Alone Safety, February 22, 3:30-5 p.m., $45-55
Want to leave your child home alone confidently? This class will teach them everything necessary when staying home alone. Children will learn telephone and door answering techniques, internet safety, accident and fire protection and first aid techniques. We’ll also talk about how to manage your time when you’re home alone for short period of time. The class includes a variety of teaching methods, including a video and role playing.
Social Netiquette,
February 21, 3:30-5 p.m., $45-55
Social networking has become the new playground for Tweens and who can blame them for being drawn to a place where you can be anyone you want, meet people from around the world, share pictures and experiences, build or join a community or become an instant celebrity.
Through the Social Netiquette workshop, students learn to develop and apply proper social etiquette, good citizenship and critical thinking skills to meeting people, sharing information and socializing through the internet.
CPR 2017,
February 22, 6-9 p.m., $60-70
The Franklin Recreation Department in conjunction with HIS (Health & Safety Institute) will be partnering up with CPR & first aid training to Franklin Residents. Certified instructor Laura Atwood has years of experience training individuals in the Franklin community. Whether for employment, school, babysitting, or just an overall understanding of infant, child and adult CPR; this course is the course for you and your family. Certifications are valid for 2 years after the completion of this course. Each participant will receive a certification card upon completion of the course.
Kid Care Babysitting, February 22, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., $60-70
This introductory babysitting class allows potential sitters the opportunity to learn about the business of babysitting. After 4 hours of training, you will receive a certification card and be put on our Call-A-Teen program list for possible babysitting jobs. Child care & wellness will be the focus with basic first aid and safety tips from Franklin Police & Fire, and a child care specialist. Please bring a lunch and a drink.
