Community Day Set for June 3

Article Body:

Save the date! June may seem like a long way off, but the Norfolk Lions Community Day team is already planning this annual event. Set for Saturday, June 3 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Community Day 2017 will resurrect the original “Old Tyme Day” theme from years past, when times were a little slower and more affordable. Once again, the Holmes family has graciously agreed to hold the event on their property at 22 Myrtle Street in Norfolk.
This will be the Lions’ 25th year of holding Community Day, so a Happy 25th Anniversary theme will be a part of the day. The organization’s goal is to provide a country fair-type environment, including music, dancing, games, petting animals, hayrides, train rides, pie eating contest, foam for kids to play in, food and historical displays. The Lions invite the entire Norfolk Community to come out, celebrate and get to know their neighbors.
The Lions welcome community participation and invite any Norfolk business, organization, neighborhood or group to participate in Community Day. Groups and organizations (including corporations) can take part by setting up a booth or tent, sponsoring an activity or entertainment, or becoming a sponsor.
Groups with a booth are asked to provide something in return, such as a game or activity, or provide financial support for the event. Groups and organizations can also sponsor an event or entertainment.
