A record number of four Destination Imagination teams from the town of Millis have made it to the Destination Imagination Global competition. All four teams, one high school level, one middle school and two elementary teams were invited to participate in the Globals in Knoxville, Tennessee from May 24-27th. Over 1,100 DI teams from teams from 45 states, 7 Canadian provinces and 13 countries, a total of over 15,000 people attend this event to showcase their creativity.
“Three teams won at regionals and then were first, second or third at states in their categories,” explains Jennifer Farrar. One team that placed 4th at States invited to Globals received the invitation after a team that won at states declined the travel to Tennessee, an expense, she says, that can run the team $10,000-$15,000 in travel costs.
