Dancing Arts Center of Holliston is pleased to announce that Jacob Clerico, 19, from Natick, has been asked to join American Ballet Theatre’s Studio Company for the 2017-18 season. American Ballet Theatre, America’s National Ballet Company, is recognized as one of the great ballet companies in the world.
Clerico began his dance training at the age of 4 at Dancing Arts Center, and for the past two years, has been training at the prestigious Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School of American Ballet Theatre (ABT) in Manhattan. In addition to its outstanding dance education, the ABT School affords its exceptional students the opportunity to fill the ranks of the Studio Company and ultimately the main Company.
One of only four talented students selected this year, Clerico will begin as a member of the Studio Company in September. American Ballet Theatre’s Studio Company is a classical ensemble made up of 14 dancers of outstanding potential. The mission of ABT Studio Company is to train young dancers (ages 16-20) in preparation for entering American Ballet Theatre’s main Company or other leading national and international professional ballet companies. The program serves as a bridge between ballet training and professional performance.
“We are incredibly proud of Jacob’s accomplishments,” Gregg Saulnier and Patrick Notaro, Dancing Arts Center’s Co-Directors, said “His dedication and willingness to work hard, combined with his natural talent for dance, were evident when we first started working with him at Dancing Arts Center.”
