Hurry and get your tickets now for the third Holliston Vs. Harlem Wizards Game, a fundraiser that will benefit the Holliston Athletic Boosters and the Friends of Holliston Basketball Association that will take place on Sunday, November 19th, at 1 p.m. at the Holliston High School Field House. This year, the funds will be used toward a new basketball court in the field house, which is used for high school athletics, including boys’ and girls’ basketball, and volleyball, as well as for town youth basketball programs.
“We ran games in 2011 and 2013 and both were great successes with sell-out crowds and no tickets available on game day,” says Christine Smith, who co-chaired Holliston’s two prior Wizards games which benefitted the building of the Miller Elementary School’s new ADA compliant playground. “We expect to sell out again and encourage people to buy early!”
The Harlem Wizards was started back in 1962 by sports promoter Howie Davis. This show basketball group, with four teams this year, played in over 400 communities across the USA just last season alone, while raising over $2 million. The two-hour game will present Harlem Wizards’ brand of “Trick Hoops & Alley Oops” entertainment basketball, which has been packing gyms across the globe for over 50 years. Their show includes amazing slams, world-class tricks, precision teamwork and humor. You can learn more at www.harlemwizards.com.
Team from Holliston will be called the “Holliston Heat” and will be teachers, community members, coaches, and the basketball varsity team captains.
Tickets - on line only – may be purchased in advance, with General Admission at $20. A limited number (50) “Courtside Plus” seats will also be available on line for $35/each (parents accompanying children purchasing courtside plus must also purchase courtside plus).
