Ashland Farmers Market Returns, June 9
Issue Date:
May, 2018
Article Body:

Starting Saturday, June 9, Ashland Farmers Market (AFM) will return to 125 Front St., with many local farm favorites.
Long Life Farm of Hopkinton and Upswing Farm, Ashland’s only farm, will bring organically grown produce and flowers; Flats Mentor Farm of Lancaster will return with fresh vegetables and herbs commonly grown in Asia; Sunshine Farm of Sherborn will be back with veggies, as well as strawberries and blueberries in June; and Arcadian Farm of Holliston, known for their apple orchards, will be returning, too.
“After a long winter and non-existent spring, I for one cannot wait for the outdoor market to return to 125 Front Street,” Julia Chase, AFM board president, said. “Our volunteers and committee members have been hard at work making sure we have a rich lineup of food vendors and artisans. We’ll have exciting theme days, great community groups and kids’ activities, and fantastic bands! I’m hoping to see lots of familiar and new faces this season!”
Shoppers will also find their favorite vendors selling meats, eggs, fish, gelato, bakery goods, sweets, wines, sauces, pasta, and other specialty products. The Coffee Trike will be the full-time coffee and tea vendor. Crepe maker, La Maison a Gateaux, Mohammed of Kabob House and The Carve Cafe will serve ready-to-eat foods.
AFM will feature Shady Pine Farm, which has grass-fed beef and pork; Couet Farm & Fromagerie will return with their award-winning cheeses made from sheep and cows milk; and Ackermann Maple Farm will bring maple syrup tapped from trees in Cabot, Vermont.
New vendors already lined for this season are Everything Jalapeño and Not with pickles and jams, Fully Rooted with raw cold-pressed juices, The Fudge Lady, and Laszlo Family Farm with treats for dogs.
“It is so great to see the farmers’ market bringing the community together each week for a positive, lively, fun and healthy time,” Karen Leggett, marketing team member, said. “The energy we feel on a sunny Saturday morning is totally infectious. With so many of the favorites returning and several new vendors attending, this seventh year is bound to be a huge success. Fresh and fabulous!”
